How often does each juz come back?

For Hifz students and huffaz. Choose how much you have memorised and how much you revise each day, and see how long one full round of Muraja'ah takes.

“Keep revising the Quran. By the One in whose hand is my soul, it slips away faster than a camel from its rope.”

Sahih al-Bukhari 5033 · Sahih Muslim 791

Your plan

Plan your revision

Start with what you already know: your daily revision, or how often you want each juz to come back. In the Madinah Mushaf, 1 juz is about 20 pages.

20 pages = about 1 juz

Light: 2–5 pages · Steady: about 10 pages (½ juz) · Strong: 20+ pages (1 juz or more)

Advanced settings

Illness, travel, exams or other reasons. We use 2 days unless you change it.

How it works

How we work out one full round

No hidden numbers. This is all the calculator uses.

Your memorised pages

The Madinah Mushaf has 604 pages in 30 juz, so 1 juz is about 20 pages. 10 juz is about 201 pages.

Revision days in a month

A month has about 4.3 weeks. With 6 revision days a week, that is 26 days. We take away your days off (2 unless you change it).

One full round

Your memorised pages divided by your pages a day gives the revision days you need. We spread those days over your week to find the real number of days.

Newest lessons

This counts one full round of everything memorised. Many students also revise their newest pages every day, on top of the round.

Little and often

Revising a steady amount every day keeps more in memory than a lot once a week. Choose a daily amount you can keep up on busy days too.

Questions

Muraja'ah questions

What is Muraja'ah?

Muraja'ah means revising what you have already memorised, so it stays strong. At AFAQIS, revision is part of every Hifz class.

How many pages should I revise each day?

It depends on how much you have memorised and how often you want each juz to come back. For example, with 10 juz memorised and 10 pages a day, 6 days a week, everything comes back about every 26 days. A hafiz who revises 1 juz a day, every day with no days off, finishes a full round in about a month. Use the calculator to find your own number.

How can I make revision easier?

Revise at a fixed time each day, recite your revision to someone who can correct you, and read from your revision in your prayers.

Do you help with revision in online classes?

Yes. In AFAQIS Hifz classes, revision is part of every class and the weekly plan shows what to revise. Classes are one-to-one on Google Meet, under the supervision of Ustadh Abdullah Al Sanabili.
